Wale: "Bad Girls Club" F. J. Cole
"Bad Girls Club" is probably one of the last tracks that fans of Wale's lyrical exercises wanted to hear. But hey, dude's not going to get paid by dropping tracks like the ones we all loved on his Mixtape About Nothing and More About Nothing mixtapes. So you can't really blame him and J. Cole for recording "Bad Girls Club." It serves as the first leak off Ambition, Wale's forthcoming sophomore record and first on Maybach Music Group.
To be honest, the track is not really as bad as I'm making it seem. Sure, Cole's hook is a little rough because let's face it, he's not the best singer. But it works. And the beat, which sounds ripped from the Neptunes' vaults, is raw while being polished enough to bang in a party setting. Wale spits a great third verse, too, as he plays the role of the underdog. But even with all those strengths, something still sounds off.
