Despite unpleasant rants about wishing for the death of electronic music and how their contemporaries need to learn how to write a song, you have to give it to Vivian Girls for being able to fit this much rollicking goodness into two minutes of song. Much like the movie of the same name, "Lake House," feels like riding into town in the late afternoon, searching for some trouble to get into (haven't actually seen Lake House, but I think the plot is that if Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves ever get within 50 feet of each other The Lake House will explode? Fans feel free to correct me). Vivian Girls recorded Lake House for the eighth part of Almost Ready's The World's Lousy with Ideas Compilation. [Pitchfork]
