Viva Voce are often lumped in with the bazillion husband-wife bands that are bouncing around the indieverse right now, but they've always avoided the "this song is about their relationship" deconstruction because their songs are more concerned with changing genre than anything else. They've done a little indie-pop, they've done hematoma-causing stoner rock, and on their latest album, Rose City, they kinda/sorta do both. "Octavio" is the latest single from Rose City to get the video treatment, and the whole thing takes place in a house that looks like it was created for the Chronicles of Narnia movies, which needless to say, is pretty cool.
Rose City is out now. [Culture Bully]
