The list of great, or at least intriguing, musical guests on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon continued last night with a performance from Vampire Weekend. The song, “White Sky,” is ostensibly new, although it’s been debuted in their live set already, so you can find various badly recorded versions of it all over the internet.

This version is supplemented by a lush string section and additional percussion, although the overall sound isn’t far from the indiepop-meets-Graceland stylings of Vampire Weekend's debut album. It’s a sparse arrangement and contains very little instrumentation despite the swelled ranks of musicians joining the band.

A typically awkward exchange between Fallon and Ezra Koenig concludes the performance, with the singer revealing that their new album will “hopefully” emerge in the fall.
