Vampire Weekend

Everywhere (Fleetwood Mac Cover) (Audio)

Average Rating: 4.50

Pretty Much Amazing has an MP3 of Vampire Weekend doing a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Everywhere” (from their 1987 album Tango in the Night) for Australian radio while down under for Splendour in the Grass. Vampire Weekend’s cover removes a lot of the studio gloss from the original, and Ezra Koenig and Rostam Batmanglij harmonize very well on the track. It’s not as good as their Tom Petty cover, but it’s still pretty enjoyable either way.

eh. cute, but the ahhhh backup vocals that rise just before the chorus kicks in, having one young dude sing it lo-fi vs. an army of studio-polished christine mcvies? no contest.
