Remember that old Tom Petty song with the Alice in Wonderland video? Well Vampire Weekend do, and the band played a pretty awesome cover of the song (“Don’t Come Around Here No More”) at a Summer Stage performance in Central Park this weekend. Head vampire Ezra Koenig calls Petty a “true fucking poet” at the beginning, and the band is joined by the event’s M.C. Andrew W.K.
Vampire Weekend play Popped Festival this weekend before heading out on a European tour at the end of this month.
