Yesterday Britpop gods Blur unveiled a couple of new tracks via a live Twitter broadcast. Once they wrapped that up, the boys revealed the studio versions and accompanying videos for both tracks.
The first, the melancholy “Under The Westway,” comes with a slow pan through the song’s sheet music. The second, the new wavey “The Purtian,” is accompanied by a series of neon lights displaying its lyrics.
Both songs were written for Blur’s August 12 performance at the London Olympic Games Closing Ceremony with the Specials and New Order in Hyde Park. “Under The Westway” and “The Puritan” are available on iTunes now and a 7” single is set for release on August 6 via Parlophone. [P4K]
