"Get On Your Boots" (Video)

The video for U2's "Get On Your Boots" premiered around the net last weekend, but disappeared quickly because it was apparently a rough cut. Today the video finally reappeared, and I'm thinking whoever made it might want to take another week--it looks like it was made by someone who just learned how to layer images in video editing software, since dozens of different shots of people and statues and fires (oh my) are layered above and below the band performing the song. Bono does his best to shatter the fourth wall (literally, he smashes some glass), and Edge does his best strut-job.

"Get On Your Boots" is on No Line On The Horizon, which is due out on February 27 via Interscope. [Stereogum]

I remember this song from the first time around in the
'80s when it was called Wild Wild West and the band was named Escape Club. Just sayin'.

Yeah, the verse has a not-so-faint resemblance to "Pump it Up" by Elvis Costello too. . .
