U2: "Get on Your Boots" (Live on the Late Show with David Letterman) (Video)

The members of U2 took a brief diversion from their promotional duties on Thursday night by playing a song not featured on No Line on the Horizon. But it was back to hyping the album last night (March 6), with a rendition of the first single from the record, “Get on Your Boots.”

Another painful additional segment, this time titled “Ask U2,” proved that the band shouldn’t give up their day jobs, and Letterman performed the requisite ass kissing that he’s been doing all week. It’s difficult to see “Get On Your Boots” entering the pantheon of classic U2 tracks, but Bono does his best to muster some enthusiasm for such an insubstantial song.
