Brooklyn/Long Island band Twin Sister is one of the best new discoveries of 2010, unless you’re well ahead of the curve and have already checked out the group’s earlier Vampires With Dreaming Kids EP. Here, they perform a stripped down version of “Lady Daydream” from the recent Color Your Life.
This track is typical of the after-hours sound that haunts Twin Sister’s music, with the band slowly working their way around the song via a beatbox, wood blocks and subtle keyboard textures. It’s the perfect backing for singer Andrea Estella to unleash her beautifully cracked vocals, which are going to garner acres of column space when the group gets around to releasing a full-length album.

Fits my vibe this morning.
Awesome.
dude is feeling the hell out of those wood blocks
eff this is good. also, the wood block usage is the most spontaneous instrument I've seen since Neil Young & Crazy Horse used a broom on astroturf...
