Now that Dear Science is upon us, it’s time to evaluate the non-album tracks that are streaming on Last.fm that Nick mentioned with his post last week. There are two remixes at Last.fm, along with three non-album tracks, the best of which is “Make Love All Night Long”—a track that shares a lot of themes from Dear Science closer “Lover’s Day” and relies a lot on the saxophone, and Kyp Malone gets a lot of air time. “Heroic Dose” is less interesting—it uses French vocals and washes of guitars to create dissonance, but never really goes anywhere. The other non-album track, “Non-Musical Silence,” is merely a soundscape of what sounds like robot birds chirping at each other. Listen Here.
Be economical with your listens, as they revert to 30-second clips after you listen more than three times. Or you could buy the deluxe version of the album, which includes these songs as part of the package. [Via Pitchfork]
