As TV on the Radio preps their upcoming album Dear Science, they have made public the first song off the album on their website. "Golden Age" is both funkier than any previous TVOTR release and the most electronica-heavy track we've heard from a band that's dabbled in electronic effects in the past. It almost sounds like Daft Punk or a similarly robotic band covering Parliament/Funkadelic. Of course, it still injects TV on the Radio's distinctive soulful indie vibe throughout.
We've talked a lot about the influence of Radiohead's business model with In Rainbows. This may be the first major release where the actual music of In Rainbows has influenced a band; similarities to "Bodysnatchers," albeit with a more uplifting pathos, are hard to deny.
All and all, we at Prefix are nothing if not intrigued by Dear Science, which is set to hit the market September 23.

I think this song (the music really) bears more than a passing resemblance to Breathe & Stop by Q.Tip. That opening drum part is pretty damn close.
It also sounds a lot like Station to Station-era Bowie.
