TV on the Radio popped in on Leno’s show for a performance of the rapping “Dancing Choose,” on Friday, helped out by the four person horn section that helped them deliver the song on Letterman’s fire escape. Easily the best part of the performance is the intro by Leno, as NSync-er Lance Bass and Bette Midler are seated next to him and both look incredibly uncomfortable. Part of me wishes the band would have done a different song (like “Crying” or “Family Tree”), but the performance is pretty great—I’m still always blown away at how great they are at replicating their songs’ density live, and they deliver here. Whoops. I just realized that that woman is Joy Behar from the View not Bette Midler. She still looks pretty awkward though.
