In the above clip for "Murder Weapon," the first single from his upcoming Mixed Race album, Tricky plays a boxer entangled in some kind of Sonny Liston-esque web of organized crime. The track deconstructs the Peter Gunn bass line with some added drums, and features vocals from Franky Riley, Trickyt's touring vocalist who plays a big part on Mixed Race. Like a lot of Tricky's songs, this one is almost perfectly suited for car commercials. I imagine it'll be in one very, very soon. Probably after Mixed Race is released on Oct. 5 via Domino.
