Here's the problem with Travis Barker's hip-hop album, Give The Drummer Some: No one over the age of 16 can really get down with rawk guitar-driven rap. I mean, I was 16 once and I loved that shit, hence my one-time Rage Against the Machine addiction. But it's a tough sell for anyone older than that because it all just tends to sound...corny. That being said, this latest Drummer single, "Let's Go," is an exception. And it's not because Barker has crafted some amazing beat that makes the guitar thing work. It's because dude got three of the world's quickest spitters -- Busta Rhymes, Twista, and Yelawolf -- to absolutely rip shit. And let's be honest, you're never too old to have your face melted by raps like these. I just don't know why Lil Jon had to be involved.
Give The Drummer Some is out now.
