Travis Barker: "Jump Down" f. The Cool Kids
In between working on a variety of projects in 2009, drummer/producer Travis Barker found some time to put together remixes of popular hip-hop tracks. You might remember his take on posse cut "Forever" the most as it took the otherwise simplistic beat and ramped things up considerably. After hearing that remix and several others, you were probably thinking the same as I was: When is Barker just going to release an album in this style? Well, he apparently was working on just that with Give The Drummer Some. Here we have the first leak from the album, "Jump Down," which boasts the Cool Kids doing what they do best: Big-upping themselves via molasses flows over a grimy synth-heavy, drums-centric production. I have to hand it to Barker, he certainly knew how to complement Mikey Rocks and Chuck Inglish.
