Travis Barker and DJ AM

Fix Your Face (Video)

So apparently their appearance together at the VMA’s last weekend wasn’t just a case of random collaboration gone incredibly boring—DJ AM and Travis Barker (he of Blink 182) have released a video called “Fix Your Face” that features AM doing his scratching thing, and Barker looking fully invested in playing pretty simple beats like he’s really impressing everyone who’s watching.

The first two minutes sound suspiciously like the rap-rock Barker and his Blink brethren wanted to banish when they hit the national consciousness, while the last two sound like a simpler version of Girl Talk—with Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire” popping up in different tempos, and a handful of raps dropping in on top. I think this album could be big though. Taking turntablism and umm... drumming more mainstream.

I dont think his VMA perfomances were boring. if the person who worte this article took some time to realize that all hip hop beats are pretty basic thats like saying all hip hop is boring. He does these basic beats and adds his own spin to it. I think Barker is good at what he does and is getting a lot more success then average rappers and producers. I was actually waiting for a Travis Barker collaboration album to come out. I think a lot of people would buy it and actually enjoy it

theres my rant. just because he doesnt impress one person doesnt mean half the worlds not impressed.
