England-born/Colombia-based Will Holland, better known as Quantic, has built up quite a body of work over the past decade. He has spent time digging for vinyl in Ethiopia, covering hip-hop classics in Colombia, and producing and DJing nearly everywhere else on the glob. And to celebrate his work over the past 10 years, indie-jazz/everything label Tru Thoughts is releasing The Best of Quantic compilation in September. It’s a two-disc set that feature both his solo material, his work with his own groups like the Quantic Soul Orchestra and Flowering Inferno, and his work with outside artists like Spanky Wilson and Alice Russell. Here, we have “Transatlantic,” a track off his album Apricot Morning that could also serve as Holland’s theme song for life.
