Jesy Fortino's newest Tiny Vipers track, "Development," is apparently about just that: on Stereogum, Fortino explains how the song was inspired by the feeling of loss the singer experiences when she notices how much of the sublime Seattle wilderness has been replaced with condos and Wal-Marts.

"It's hard to find new sources of this mystery and darkness," Fortino says. "The evil witches and monsters that hid in those woods at night when I was a kid are nothing in comparison to the terror there now."

Tiny Vipers' Life on Earth is out July 7.
