There should be absolutely no surprise that "Kind of A Girl," the first single from frankenband Tinted Windows is straight-up, out-of-the-wrapper power-pop. After all, the group is made Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos, Taylor Hanson (that Hanson), Adam Schlesinger from Fountains of Wayne, and former Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha. Iha's really the only name on that list that would suggest otherwise, but seeing as how Billy Corgan was always the wizard behind the Smashing Pumpkins' curtain, Iha's turn still isn't a surprise.
"Kind of A Girl" delivers some pretty standard adolescent feelings about "the kind of a girl you can't get enough of." Slut. In general, the whole thing sounded like Tinted Windows banged it together in about ten minutes, which isn't to say that good songs haven't been written in ten minutes. However, I'd like a graph for half-baked "supergroups" that plots songwriting time against success. Tinted Windows' debut record is due out April 21.

Sounds pretty damned good to me!

I kind of love it. I feel dirty.
you should.
I like it, good song.

My cousin opened up for Hanson once.
Was your cousin in Blues Traveler? Because Hanson fans claim the two bands work together, and that makes Hanson awesome.
Good tune, but Hanson's voice lacks conviction, at least on first listen. Still, I can see myself going back to this again and again. I almost want to see them at the Double Door.
sounds like a gum commercial
Love it!

Catchy song. I love it.
No doubt the radio stations will eat this up until we can't take it anymore and begin to hate it.

Sounds like The Jonas Brothers.

I love it! Why? Two words: Adam Schlesinger. Anything related to the power-pop deliciousness that is Fountains of Wayne (one of the most underrated bands ever) is amazing.
