Times New Viking have jumped ship from Matador and have a new album due for Merge in April, which is titled Dancer Equired. The band has also produced a video for the first song to be lifted from the record, titled “No Room to Live,” which mashes up live action and animation and debuts the new “cleaner” Times New Viking sound. It remains to be seen if this is an indication of the overall direction of the new album, but if it is it will be interesting to see how it divides longstanding fans of the group, some of whom will no doubt miss that gigantic wall of fuzz for which they are known.
