Sonic Youth frontman Thurston Moore has been doing the rounds of the late night TV talk show circuit in support of his low key solo album Demolished Thoughts. David Letterman got a version of the opening cut from that record, “Benediction,” last night (Aug. 31), which is guided into shape by Moore’s solo band. It’s got the same kind of delicate acoustic quality that Beck’s 1998 album Mutations possessed—which is appropriate as Beck produced Demolished Thoughts after the pair collaborated on the Record Club series last year. Letterman even invites Moore’s harp player to “go nuts” at the end, which proves to be practically impossible on such an instrument. Check it out above. [via The Audio Perv]
