Theophilus London is slowly but surely working up the ranks of artists-with-ridiculous-promotional-teams in preparation for the release of his full-length debut, Timez Are Weird These Days. To be fair, he did promise that he would be delivering a new single, remix, unreleased track, or video. And he has kept at it since releasing the Dave Sitek-produced "Field of Dreams" almost a week ago. For London's latest promo, he has issued these insane animated visuals for Timez Are Weird cut "Girls Girls $." He was inspired to make the video after looking at one of his friend's Twitter avatars. Said friend then came over to London's crib, where they sketched out the idea for the visuals. The rapper explained its concept as follows:
“This video was built on the hype and importance of the internet. NYC legends and hotspots, twitter personalities, quotes and everything hyped weather good or bad. I was intrigued by this character my friend Ben Solomon had on his avatar and approached him via twitter and email to talk about a concept. He came over an we sketched out a few things and brainstormed. This is the modern day Waldo. Can u spot anyone? #isityou?”
Well, can you spot anyone? Let us know. Timez Are Weird These Days drops July 19 on Warner Bros.
