San Francisco's insanely-prolific garage-punk crew Thee Oh Sees have (you guessed it) another album coming out September 11 on In The Red called Putrifiers II. They're sharing the first single "Lupine Dominus" today.
The song keeps the band moving in their recent direction, i.e. rhythmic psychedelia. Perhaps the best thing to happen to the band in recent years is the addition of a second drummer which allows the band to blast off on a bed of pummeling-but-nimble beats. "Lupine Dominus" is more understated than usual: guitars slash from far away and the harmonies are somewhat more reserved. But it burns slowly, with that cheesy organ riff giving a whiff of impending doom as the train chugs its way down the tracks. Take a listen below.
