The xx: "VCR" (Four Tet Remix)

It was the cavernous, effective use of silence and space on the xx's self-titled debut record that made it so awesome. It's also what made their songs so ripe for remixing. The flow of xx remixes has petered out over the past few months, which of course meant it was time for Four Tet to throw his hat into the ring. Keiran Hebden takes on "VCR" on this radio rip, using only snippets of the original to decorate a relentless, shuffling beat. The man knows his way around an eight-minute jam.
