The xx: "Open Eyes" (Demo)
A while back, The xx started up a website to document the creation of its sophomore album. On it, the group recently posted an original new song titled "Open Eyes." Pitchfork calls the track "barebones," but a YouTube commenter said it better: "This is minimalist,? even for the XX," wrote thingeeee. The song is almost scarily empty, desperate and paired with visuals that are equally in the shadows. If anyone was wondering where the UK group was going to venture after its breakthrough debut, perhaps this is a hint. Who knows, though? It is only a demo. You can check out "Open Eyes" below. [P4K]
