It's official: if you're into reasonably sultry, unhurried pop, then The xx's upcoming debut full-length on Young Turks has to be one of your most anticipated releases of 2009. "Basic Space" is the latest offering from the disc, and it's filled in by minimal instrumentation, and the track's patiently delivered vocals, especially Romy Croft's distinctive quiver. Girl's voice is so tender you could pull it apart and eat it.
The xx's debut album, XX is out Aug. 17 in the UK. [TheFader]
