After kicking off 2009 by releasing new song "Pulled Fences," and starting work on their first new album in six years, The Wrens have apparently hit the ground running with all these new plans. As part of a brief interview with Magnet, Charles Bissell offered up a track from the band's latest recording session. While the song has no title, it is at least proof that the band is working on new stuff. And while it isn't earth-shattering all on its own, it does leave hints that the band's new album could be great. If it ever gets done. The clear, waltzing piano works nicely against the fuzzy vocals, then gives way to grinding guitars and thundering drums that build and crash on each other until the song gives out all of a sudden.
