
The version of "Crescent" that is currently making the internet rounds is just a demo version of a song that will be appearing on the Wrens' upcoming album. However, seven years after their last album, 2003's The Meadowlands, we'll take what we can get. The track is a jangly little number that revolves around a web of guitars and lightly played drums before reverting to something a bit more propulsive.
Demo or not, "Crescent" will be appearing on Dear New Orleans, a compilation marking the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. The release brings together a boatload of unreleased tracks from several prominent indie artists, and is being put out by the non-profit group Air Traffic Control on Aug. 24. In the meantime, give "Crescent" a listen below.
