As you might be aware, the Weeknd's Abel Tesfaye didn't start writing and recording music this year. Yes, he might have blown all the way up in 2011, but his music career goes back at least several years. Proving this point are two newly unearthed cuts from his vaults, "Superhero" and "Cure."
Both tracks, which stem from 2009, sound like they must have fit in on some long-form project Tesfaye had in the works but obviously scrapped. Maybe the entire thing will leak sometime soon? Who knows, but for now, these are kind of cool for research purposes/hearing what The Weeknd might have sounded like if he got the push he did this year. Stream both cuts below. [UHTN]
