The Weeknd: "Party" (Previously Unreleased)

Following in the pattern of "Superhero" and "Cure," here goes the third previously unreleased track from The Weeknd. Like the two before it, "Party" is more explicitly pop than the hazy post-sex jams Abel Tesfaye has become known for. Not to be confused with Thursday's "Life of the Party" or House of Balloons' "The Party & the After Party," this track is likely from 2008-09. Produced with his former crew, The Noise, "Party" features a guitar riff either reminiscent of 1997 Eve 6 or, in a slightly more glossy context, some Jesse McCartney instrumental. It's tailored for the club, those taking shots and those getting high--it's not called "Party" for no reason. The chorus drags a bit (get ready for a sing along!) and you'll probably be happy to hear what The Weeknd has evolved from. Give the track a spin for yourself below. [Hypetrak]
