In the Weeknd's 2011 song "Rolling Stone" he croons over an acoustic guitar, while leaving listeners with lines like "Baby I got you/Until you're used to my face/And the mystery fades". Now, two years later, the mystery hasn't completely faded but much of the initial curiosity towards Abel Tesfaye's enigmatic persona is gone. Instead fans are interested in what direction Tesfaye's music will go, and how he will deal with this new found fame.
With the release of his proper debut album Kissland yesterday, The Weeknd decided to release the visuals for his single "Live For" which features a guest appearance by Drake. Much like "Rolling Stone", "Live For" contains acoustic strings that pleasantly meld with Tesfaye's voice. The video is dark, scattered, and hazy, placing flickering lights on both Tesfaye and Drake. While the song may not contain the potency of 'The Zone", the video is definitely still worth the watch.
