The Walkmen's batting average continues to increase with "Stranded," a song from their upcoming album Lisbon that further showcases the quintet's attention to sonic detail and production techniques. If it was their goal to make every instrument sound as lush as possible, they definitely succeeded. The song is carried by a muscular, swelling horn section that sounds like it may have been recorded in a large concert hall, and The Walkmen themselves are no slackers, contributing pulsing drums, feather-light guitar twinkles and an incredibly soulful vocal turn from Hamilton Leithauser.
Lisbon will be released on Sep. 14. Listen to "Stranded" over at NPR.
