With the Walkmen's "In The New Year" already getting song of the year consideration, it's only natural that the band would come out with a music video. Pitchfork.tv has the premiere of video fused with the silent horror film  footage and Hamilton Leithauser singing into a microphone, sometimes with spooky makeup of his own. I had never really thought of the parallel between "In The New Year" and "Nosferatu" and "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" before, but after seeing the video, I can see that a connection certainly exists. Leithauser looks disjointedly confused at some points, but the video still gets the message of the song across strongly enough to overlook his deer-in-the-headlights look at times.
