Volcano Choir: "Youlogy" (Stream)

"Youlogy," the second song to surface from Collections of Colonies of Bees and Justin Vernon of Bon Iver's Volcano Choir, still doesn't show the experimental tendencies Vernon promised for the album, but it certainly does up the spooky quotient considerably. The song, with instrumentation that brings to mind Fever Ray, is a haunting, falsetto'd rumination, building ever so slightly to its climax near the latter third. The song is streaming over at NPR.

Volcano Choir's Unmap is due out on Sept. 22 via Jagjaguwar.
