Hey everyone: It’s a new Verve video! Remember when that seemed like a great prospect, like way back in July? Me too. Then Forth came out, and everyone went back to listening to Urban Hymns.
That being said, “Rather Be” is one of the stronger tracks on Forth—it, like the other tracks, is essentially a Richard Ashcroft solo track, but the lush orchestration of the track is one of the better musical moments on Forth. In this clip, Ashcroft wanders around a park singing the track—apparently the place he’d rather be than anywhere else is an empty, foggy park by himself. It also strongly brings to mind the “Bittersweet Symphony” video.
