The Verve are pulling out all the stops to make sure no one forgets they have a comeback album (Forth) coming out next month. They put out the first single and a non-album track, showed us the art and the track list, and now they’ve released a video for the first single “Love is Noise,” all in a well-timed succession.
Images of people marching in China, the band playing in an empty room, mountains, a woman calling for a hawk, and Richard Ashcroft sitting by himself, are spliced together in time with the music, which gives the song a more anthemic and important feel than the song alone. The video might not be unforgettable (like this one) but it’s a welcome return for the band.
Forth is out on 8/19 via On Your Own. [Stereogum]

nice video. while it's not my favorite of the new songs i've heard, it's still excellent that they are back making music, touring, etc. now they just need to complete the comeback effort with an extensive u.s. tour!
