Scottish indie rockers The Twilight Sad just released a track from the forthcoming No One Can Ever Know in the shape of “Another Bed.” The band has moved away from its roots here—this is a glistening piece of Euro-disco influenced pop, sliced up somewhere between euphoria and yearning. Singer James Graham’s distinctive brogue helps anchor the sound in familiar territory, allowing the band to spin off and explore the effect of welding some Joy Division-esque synth sounds to their work. Producer Andy Weatherall (Primal Scream, Fuck Buttons) was involved in No One Can Ever Know, so this direction won’t come as a total surprise to anyone familiar with his work.
