The Thermals: "I Don't Believe You"
Anytime a new Thermals single starts making the rounds, you basically know ahead of time what you're getting: There's going to be a big guitar riff, some shouting, probably some ohhs and ahhs, and some lyrics about being disenchanted. So, with all of those things in place, Pitchfork has the new Thermals single, "I Don't Believe You," streaming right now. It's a bit more Fuckin A than The Body, The Blood, The Machine, which is sort of a bummer, but you can't really expect Hutch Harris to be that totally bummed (at least conceptually bummed) for this long. This is still sort of reactionary, but it's not as direct as The Thermals have been in the past.
The Thermals' fifth album, Personal Life, is due out on Sept. 14.
