The Thermals: "I Don't Believe You" (Video)

· by

Can Carrie Brownstein act? This new video by the Thermals, for “I Don’t Believe You,” offers us a chance to run an eye over the former Sleater-Kinney guitarist’s thespian qualities, as she portrays someone who appears to be distinctly aggravated by the band. The song is set to feature on Personal Life, the forthcoming fifth album by the Thermals.

The track is full of pleasantly fizzy pop-punk moves, with lots of “oh-oh-oh-oh” backing vocals and densely layered guitar riffs. But this is one of those videos that manages to eclipse the song, and it’s easy to let the music slide into the background as Brownstein tries to track down the band as they perform somewhere in her house.

She's actually been in full-length films, I think.

Cool video.
