The Strange Boys: "Doueh" (Video)

It turns out that Austin indie rockers The Strange Boys are fans of the hypnotic Saharawi music made by one of Sublime Frequencies’ greatest signings, Group Doueh. To commemorate their discovery of the Western Saharan band’s music, The Strange Boys penned a song for their Live Music album named “Doueh,” which has just been given the video below. Fortunately, this isn’t the Strange Boys’ attempt to sound like Group Doueh. Instead, it’s a country-inflected tune, which Ryan Sambl from the band describes as an ode to “how (I) got turned on to the music of Group Doueh recreated using the backdrop of America’s San Francisco.” Check it out below.
