The Specials may be without founder member Jerry Dammers, but they’re doing their best to enliven audiences across North America this summer. A date at Coachella already sparked huge renewed interest in the band, and a big free show at Central Park in New York on August 22 is sure to be a big draw for nostalgic fans.
The group appeared on Jimmy Kimmel's show on Friday (June 18), where they performed this version of “Gangsters.” Unlike most reunions, this one is packed full of energy, incredibly tight performances, and a passion and commitment from the band that suggests this is about more than just picking up one final paycheck.
