The first date on the Specials’ U.S. tour was last night (April 13) on Jimmy Fallon’s show, and ultimately takes them to Coachella this weekend. This was the band’s first appearance on these shores in 30 years, and while the original lineup wasn’t intact, this version of “A Message For You, Rudy” sticks close to the recorded version of the song.
The track is famously a version of Dandy Livingston’s ska classic “Rudy, A Message to You,” which you can hear below, and the band also played a web exclusive for the Fallon show—check out the version of “Little Bitch” from the Specials album, which also appears down the page.
