San Diego indie rock revivalists The Soft Pack have a new single out off their upcoming album Strapped. “Bobby Brown” appropriately features a 40 second saxophone solo, a bubble-gummy synth line, and lyrics that detail a down-and-out friend who can’t seem to control himself. The song is a slight departure from the group’s four-piece rock formula, falling more in line with the band’s previously released keyboard-heavy single “Tallboy.”
Strapped is The Soft Pack’s first album in two years. It’s out Sept. 25 on Mexican Summer. Listen to “Bobby Brown” below.
