Die With Your Chin Up is a behind the scenes look at the recording of the Smith Western's well-recieved sophomore album Dye It Blondeas chronicled by NYC filmmaker Ray Concepcion. The 9-minute short film variously captures the band in the studio recording "All Die Young," guitarist Max Kakacek discussing their musical influences (70's glam and Oasis) and shots of the band shambling aimlessly in cut off jeans. While The Smith Westerns aren't exactly the most articulate trio in the world ("y'know?"), it's still kind of an amusing glimpse into the recording process behind one of this year's standout releases.
