The Smith Westerns: "Be My Girl"

It's certainly tedious, pushing your way through all of the lo-fi garage revivalists that are popping up all over the web these days, especially considering that the ones who get the most media attention sound like they recorded the songs while they were asleep. It's refreshing then, to hear Chicago-trio The Smith Westerns sing and play their instruments like they're actually you know, invested in their music. "Be My Girl" is a involving adolescent ditty that sounds like a sleepy summer crush that melted in the Chicago heat and is dripping out of the bottom of the cone. Try not to get messy.
