Smith Westerns cover Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
The bratty punks in Smith Westerns are the latest guest in A.V. Club's round room, playing Tom Petty's "American Girl" on the new episode of A.V. Undercover. Why did they pick "American Girl"? Because they "like pussy," which seems like as good a reason as any. They then proceed to turn the song into one of the sleepy glam rock jams that could have come off their Dye It Blonde LP. They seem non-committal about the whole thing, which is about as punk as this show gets. [AV Club]
