The Shins have a long habit of making pop music sound important, no more so than on this year's Port Of Morrow where a big budget and a serious studio propelled their sound even further.
Now James Mercer and Co. is taking that element to the small screen. Hiro Murai directs a clip for the Port Of Morrow track "It's Only Life" that taps right into this bigness. A small boy stars as an imaginary hero wandering through an apocalyptic environment while Mercer gets dragged by a couple of hairy monsters. It's like a bleaker, weirder Where The Wild Things Are.
