The Shaky Hands

We Are Young (Video)

Since Roger Daltrey first sang, “I hope I die before I get old,” in the ‘60s, young rock groups have harbored fascinations with being and remaining young (sometimes forever).

Portland’s Shaky Hands are no different—on their song “We Are Young” they sing “We are young/ we’ll soon be old” over an undulating beat. The video has more in common with the old days than the young days—as it looks like it was shot by an old handheld camera that had a big yellow stain on the lens—as the band play (music and games) on the edge of a forest. (Who does that anymore?)

The song is from Lunlight, out now via Kill Rock Stars. [Pitchfork]
