If you didn’t know any better, you’d think that the Sea and the Cake are blog-house cohorts with the Teenagers and Justice, as the group’s new single, “Weekend,” blends skittering electronica with ethereal vocals. But the band is post-rock, releasing albums since the mid-90s on Thrill Jockey. No matter, whatever you label this as, make sure it’s filed under late-career highlight.
